Support and funding

When you support New Dawn New Day, you are helping women rebuild their lives in a way that feels safe, steady and possible.

How can you support new dawn new day?

We work alongside women who have come into contact with the Criminal Justice System, many of whom are facing multiple complex challenges. Your support helps make this work possible, whether through donations, volunteering, events or working in partnership with us.

donate to us

Your donation helps create a space where women feel safe, supported and able to move forward with their lives in a positive way. Every contribution helps us continue this work and reach more women when it matters most.

raise funds for us

By fundraising for New Dawn New Day, you are helping more women access the support they need. Whether you take on a personal challenge, organise an event or support us in your own way, you are helping make that first step feel possible for someone who needs it.

Volunteer with Us

Volunteers are a valued part of New Dawn New Day. Their time, care and consistency help us offer meaningful support to the women we work alongside.
Whether working directly with women or supporting behind the scenes, every role contributes to creating a safe, supportive and steady environment.

Work for Us

Working with New Dawn New Day means being part of a team that values compassion, understanding and consistency. We welcome interest from people who share our values and want to make a meaningful difference.

Your donations make a huge difference…

New Dawn New Day relies on the generosity of our funders and donors. Without your support we would not be able to deliver our vital and life-changing work with women and girls.

“I’m so glad I went. It opened up a new avenue for friendship with other ladies. Courses helped me to understand what I went through and how to process it”

“When you walk into the centre it feels like a huge hug. The energy and atmosphere are so lovely, even talking on the phone to staff. It’s a safe space & I can drop my walls”

“My worker has made me feel positive about myself and my future. My worker has opened my eyes to different thoughts and possibilities”

Fundraise for us

Fundraising for New Dawn New Day helps us continue providing vital support to women who may be facing complex and difficult circumstances.

Every pound raised makes a difference. Whether it is a personal challenge, a community event or something simple and creative, your efforts help ensure more women can access the support they need, when they need it.

As well as supporting our work financially, fundraising also helps raise awareness of the realities many women face and the importance of trauma-informed support.

our funding

new dawn new day currently receives funding from…

Our partners and supporters

New Dawn New Day is committed to creating meaningful, lasting change in a way that is responsible and sustainable.
Our work is made possible through a combination of funding from charitable trusts, local services and public organisations, alongside donations, client contributions and training activities.

We are grateful to the organisations that currently support our work, and we welcome opportunities to work with others who share our commitment to supporting women.

Ministry Of Justice

Our Just Women project is funded by the Ministry of Justice. We deliver this in partnership with national charity Changing Lives and the Women’s Specialist Team at the National Probation Service.

The Ministry Of Justice also funds some of our core services as well as funding  Reach Out, our intensive support service for women who face additional barriers to accessing support and completing their orders.

Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner

We work in partnership with our local Police and Crime Commissioner to divert women away from offending offering a specialist Out of Court Resolution for women who are arrested in Leicestershire.

Our Approach to Funding

We seek to secure the maximum investment in our services from a diverse range of sources to ensure that we are not over-reliant on a single source of funding.

We also aim to generate income from trading activities such as selling products and services as well as raising funds from donations and fundraising events.

How the Money is Spent

New Dawn New Day’s services are people focused and rely on a team of staff and volunteers to work directly with our clients. Therefore the greatest portion of expenditure is on staff and volunteer costs. We have 15 full and part time paid staff, 3 volunteers and 4 Trustees.

The second highest expenditure is our premises costs which include everything from rent and utilities to cleaning, repairs and maintenance. Our premises offer a range of one-to-one consultation rooms and group activity spaces as well as office space for staff and volunteers.

Each year we submit our accounts and annual report to the Charity Commission, which is available to the public.

Volunteer with Us

Volunteers are a valued part of New Dawn New Day. Their time, care and consistency help us offer meaningful support to the women we work alongside.

Whether working directly with women or supporting behind the scenes, every role contributes to creating a safe, supportive and steady environment.

How we support our volunteers

We understand that supporting others requires the right support in place. Our volunteers receive ongoing guidance and care throughout their time with us.
This includes:

A structured training programme covering trauma-informed practice, safeguarding, confidentiality, boundaries and mental health awareness
Ongoing support and supervision, including regular check-ins and guidance
Group reflective practice sessions with other volunteers
Opportunities to gain meaningful experience in a supportive environment

work in partnership with New Dawn New Day

The women we support often face multiple and complex challenges. No single service can meet every need, which is why partnership working is at the heart of what we do.

We work alongside organisations who share our commitment to supporting women in a way that feels joined-up, consistent and accessible.

By working together, we can reduce barriers, strengthen support and create better outcomes for the women and girls we serve.
We have strong local partnerships and can offer opportunities for joint delivery, shared learning and, where appropriate, co-location from our women’s centre in Leicester.

We are also open to developing wider partnerships that support long-term change, whether that is through service delivery, innovation or shared funding opportunities.

New Dawn New Day offers delivery partners:

Experience in gender-responsive, trauma-informed support for women and girls
Expert knowledge of women’s offending, diversion and rehabilitation
A safe, women-only environment
Evidence-based group programmes and one-to-one support
A 30 year successful track record in changing the lives of women and girls in Leicester and Leicestershire
Strong local networks and established referral pathways
Access to women who may not engage with mainstream services

Who we work well with

We work best with organisations that:
Share our values and commitment to supporting women with care and understanding
Bring expertise that complements and strengthens outcomes
Are well run and open to innovation
Are open to collaboration, learning and working in genuine partnership
